Robert Charles TUCKER was my GGGFather. He was born 16 Nov 1843 Springfield, Clark County, Ohio, and died 6 Sep 1917 Shideler, Delaware County, Indiana. Robert m(1) 17 Aug 1871 Champaign Co., OH, to Lucy Ann McINTURFF - Lucy b 2 Nov 1853 Shenandoah Co., VA - d 3 May 1876 Champaign Co., OH - Robert m(2) abt 1877 in ? (prob OH) to Eliza A. PHENEGER - Eliza b 1839 in ? - d 1926 in ?. The folowing are three obits of Robert Charles TUCKER (1843-1917): Published Friday, 7 Sep 1917 (pg 3 - col 4), "Muncie Press" Muncie, Indiana: ROBERT C. TUCKER Robert C. Tucker, age 73 years, a veteran of the civil war and a well known Delaware county pioneer, died last evening at his home in Shideler, following an illness of several weeks. The funeral will be held in the Shide- ler M. E. church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The body will be taken to DeGraff, Ohio, Monday morning for burial. Tucker served as a soldier for three years in the civil war and was in Libby prison for three months. Published Friday, 7 Sep 1917 (pg 5 - col 2), "The Muncie Morning Star", Muncie, Indiana: SHIDELER MAN SUCCUMBS Robert C. Tucker, 73 years old, a veteran of the civil war and a well known man in the northern part of the county, passed away last night at 10 o'clock at his home in Shideler. Mr. Tucker was a member of Company B. Sixty-sixth Ohio Regiment. He is survived by the widow, two daughters, Mrs. A. V. Manor and Mrs. J. A. Mun- trode (sic) of Cleveland; one stepson and six grandchildren. The body will be taken to Concord, O., for burial. NOTE: The spelling "Muntrode" is in error as the 2nd named daughter is (my GGM) Estrell Vastus (TUCKER) WINTRODE, wife of (My GGF) John Allen WINTRODE, then of Cleveland, Ohio. Published Saturday, 8 Sep 1917 (pg 7 - col 2), "Muncie Morning Star", Muncie, Indiana: TUCKER - Obsequies over the remains of Robert C. TUCKER, 73, a civil war veteran, who passed away Thursday evening at his home in Shideler, after several weeks ill- ness, will be condicte at 3:30 o'clock to- morrow afternoon at the Shideler M. E. Church. The remains will be taken to Degraff, O., Monday morning for burial. Notify Administrator about this message?
