Christiana Dianna Tucker b. c1778 - sister to John Tucker??
This lady, who was born either NC or SC, and who married first a Hubbard and then married John Chapman b. c1774., son of Joseph Chapman.Their daughter, Sarah Jane Chapman, b. 1815, married a John Patterson in 1828 Hall County, GA.Some of Jane's children and grandchildren made application on the Guion Miller roll and cite as their lineage their mother, and her mother, Christiana Dianna Tucker, who they said was the sister of John Tucker b. c1800, who married Ruby Holloway, and who has been discussed at length on this forum. They further state that John and Christiana's parents were John Tucker and Pearlie Pinyan (Pinson?).
The applications were rejected.I'm not surprised - even if they were true. There were about 30 applicants associated with this claim. The dates of birth for Christina were all over the place - some making her over 35 years older than John Tucker - not very convincing if she was his sister.Other dates have her only 22 years older, which in those days was not outside possibility at all.But I suspect there is SOME grain of truth to this family's data. They should have had a practice session before they filled out the applications! They even got their OWN families jumbled up.I suspect they were neither able to read nor write, and just couldn't get it straight their facts straight in an interview situation. At least I would have expected them to know their own aunts and uncles better than they did in their applications.
Anyway:My problem is that I find no evidence that anyone has any idea who John Tucker's siblings were - if there were any.BUT I have an email from a fellow reaearcher who states that John applied for his parents and siblings on the Chapman Roll # 1888.Has anyone seen this?
Can anyone shed any light on Christiana?
Many thanks!
