Do you have any further back then Samuel?
I regret my research is further back in the Tucker family -
My connection to the Tucker family was a wedding between my 6gt grandfather, John Guilham who married Mary Tucker at Tiverton St. Peters on 23rd August, 1711.
One possibility that I have considered is that she was the Mary Tucker alias Jones, daughter of Nicholas baptised on 20th September 1671 at Halberton (near Uffculme/Tiverton, Devon).
Another possibility is that Nicholas was the son of William baptised on 9th Jan, 1630 (not sure whether Old or New Style Calendar) at Halberton.
All very tenuous, and perhaps not immediately of use to you
- but I offer it anyway.
The period 1640 - 1685 was a troubled time with one major and one minor Civil War (the latter locally significant to Uffculme), and three dramatic changes of regime. It is perhaps not surprising that records should be less than perfect.
