Meshack TUCKER c 1805 Washington Co. Tenn-to Ind.
Excerpts from a letter from Mrs. W.H. Kirkwood Sr. 18401 Cleveland Rd. South Bend Ind. 46637 dated Jan 5, 1967.
"I have been compiling information since about 1938. Our line begins thus;
James, John, Tillman Tucker, three brothers, came to America from England (London or near by) in the year of 1705, an estate is known to have existed. Lapse of 200 years here. Next known ancestor was my great-grandfather-Maschack Tucker born in Washington County, Tenn This follows along the Daniel Boone trails, along the rivers and to Louisville, Ky. and I have records of land ownership in Indiana in 1840.
Their life span was remarkably long, many 90 years or more."
I can't explain how she thinks Meshack is from the 3 brothers, if Meshack is her first known one. 200 years after 1705 would be 1905, probably the year she was born, so Meshack could of been born ca 1805 or earlier.
There is a Meshack Tucker on the 1850 census in Wabash Co. Ind. Is this Mrs. Kirkwood's great grandfather?
