My recollection is that St. George Tucker and his family are buried in the Episcopal church graveyard in Williamsburg. The Tuckers had a pew between the Madisons and the Monroes I think.Beverly Dandridge Tucker was the first bishop of Norfolk and I always thought his picture looked like my Dad and me.Anyway, I have not been able to make a connection.
Jesse Wilburn Tucker was my grandfather who was born in Mt. Airy, North Carolina on February 26, 1874.He married Mary Eveline Hylton, who was born on March 16, 1880, in Floyd County, Virginia.Jesse’s father was John Tucker, who was born on or about July 26, 1834, in Brownwood, Terrell County, Georgia. He married Martha Ella Kidd of Surry County who was born December 24, 1837.John Tucker’s parents were Thomas and Lucy Tucker, presumably of Terrell County, Georgia. My family lived in Maybeury, WVA circa 1900-10 before moving to Centralia, Washington.
I would dearly like to be able to prove we were a "First Family of Virginia" but so far, no luck.
