Re: Update on Letha Tuttle/Wright

Me again. It looks like John Gay Wright died, deserted or divorced, because, according to

http://www.wvculture.org/vrr/va_view.aspx?Id=11564538&Type=Marriage

Letha "Wright" married W. P. Harris in Roane County.

Her parents were Eliza and Sara Tuttle.
She was born Dec 5th, 1893 in Hur, WV; my atlas says that is in Calhoun County.

"Eliza" is Elias. Peopel in WV work hard, shoot straight and speak the truth, mostly, but they don't always spell perfectly. My Monroe County ancestors didn't.

On an unrelated note, one of the slide show pictures at the top of the WV Archives has three ballerinias in perfect and graceful sync. Not everyone there wears a flour-sack skirt and "Granny Abner" boots.

Licence taken out Oct 6, 1954, wedding performed Oct 9th.

Here is Sarah. She is on p. 249A. P. 249B crosses the township line to Washington, so she is just a handful of houses up the road from Elias. He may have carried her books home from school.

As a side note, while trying to find Sarah E, wife of Elias, I found Elias' older sister, also Sara, in 1900. She is divorced:

Alcy Tuttle, 60, mother
Sarah E A Tuttle, 35, dau
Phebe A Critsfield, 18, gr Dau
John J Critsfield, 14, gr son
Lewis A Critsfield, 10, gr son
Isic W Critsfield, 4, gr son
(Names as indexed, not necessarily as written on the original.)
========================

I tried several searches for Sarah, Elias and Letha/Lethia in 1900; did not find them.

BTW, I'm not related. I answer GF posts the way normal people do crosswords.
