Hi Paul,
I did a little checking and found a death certificate for their son, William Thomas GAMBLIN. He died in Clinton (Henry County) MO on 9-6-1955 at the age of 86 years. His birth year is given as 1869. It is said that he was born in Hickory Co.
I did some further checking and found his father, Wm. Marion Gamblin died in Ester, St. Francois Co. MO. on 12-3-1921. He was born 8-20-1834. His wife is listed as Mary (He is the only William / Wm. with a wife named Mary. On thier son's death certificate his mother is given as Mary TUCKER. The FATHER, William Marion GAMBLIN'S father's name is also given as Wm. GAMBLIN, but mother's name is given as "don't know". The informant on this death certificate was a Wm. B. GAMBLIN.

There is a William Thomas GAMBLIN born 1863 died 11-15-1943 in Dent Co. MO. His father is also given as a William GAMBLIN. No mother's name. His wife was named Martha Jane.

There is a William Joseph GAMBLIN who was born July 7, 1874. He died 8-25-1950 in Poplar Bluff, Butler Co. MO. His father is ALSO a William GAMBLIN and his mother is Katie GREEN. He was born in Ripley Co.MO.

And, there was a William H. GAMBLIN who was born in Dent Co. MO. His father's name was ZACK GAMBLIN. Zack was born in KY. The other is given as Jane WILLIAMS birthplace unknown. This William H. GAMBLIN died 11-9-1942 in St. Francois Co. MO.

So, the FIRST one is your guy. He was born in 1869. (could be 1870, since no month or day is given and they were probably approximating the birth date by his age) You say his parents were married in St. Clair Co. His death record says that he was born in Hickory Co. (which is adjacent to St. Clair).
I hope this is of some help. It gives you a place to look for records (probably Hickory Co. ???)
