Jennifer,
Email me if you would like me to send pictures of some of the Tuckers and Lays and put you in touch with some of the other cousins on both sides of the family.
My grandmother was Rebecca Frances Tucker, youngest daughter of Kinchen Washington Tucker and his wife Eliza Lay. You probably know that they married in Pulaski Co., KY, 1852.Rebecca was born in Oct of 1872.
I have the Lay and Durham ancestry. going back to Pittsylvania Co., VA and Caswell Co., NC.Would love to share info.
One of our email group is descended from Martha Jane's sister, Sarah Elizabeth who was called Betty or Bet.Mom called her Aunt Bet.Another of our group members is from their oldest brother, John C. Tucker. We also have members descended from Kinchen Washington Tucker's brothers and sisters and from his uncle, David Myers Tucker.Another member is not related but has a gun in his Civil War Collection that was probably carried by John G. Tucker, Wash's brother, in the Civil War.Some of the brothers stayed in KY during the war and fought for the Union. Those who had already left KY fought for the Confederacy.

That is Clayton Heathcock's website that has some of our Lay and Tucker information.Eliza's sibling list is incomplete.
Eliza and Wash's children are on this page:

I would love to have a photo of Martha Jane's portrait and that of John Dailey and any of the family you can share.I just took a digital photo of Eliza's portrait with a small inexpensive camera. That's what you see on the website.
I also have a photo sent to me by a cousin in KY of Jackson Lay, Eliza's brother.Jackson was her grandfather but died long before she was born. Please email me at my Yahoo. All the cousins would love to hear from you.We use a different email address for the group. Two men of our two main lines of the Tucker family have done DNA testing. One of our members has a blog about our Tucker family. She is excited about having a new cousin!I sent her a link to your post.
In 2003 many of us got together for a two day Reunion in Agnos, AR and Salem, AR. Many of us attended church on that Sunday at the Agnos Church of Christ which was started by Kinchen and Sarah J. (Brady) Tucker, parents of Kinchen Washington (Wash) Tucker. The songleader lives on land once owned by Kinchen. He read from his deed and read the history of the congregation from their church directory about the Tuckers starting the congregation with a gospel meeting in their home.I don't know if he preached or if they got a preacher to come from elsewhere. Our Tucker kin filled one whole side of the church building that day. They had reserved that side for us.We had a wonderful reunion.Several of us have pictures of that also.
Waiting to hear from you,
Janis
