James Edward Tucker Obit
"James Edward (Ed) Tucker, 70 of Tiptonville, died tuesday, July 17 2007 at Baptist Hospital in Union City.
He was a retired sewing machine mechanic for Henry I. Siegel in Tiptonville, and a long time coach of youth baseball programs.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening at Tiptonville Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Services will be at 3pm Thursday, July 19, at the chapel, with Rev. Andy Martin, pastor of Tiptonville Baptist Church, officiating. Music will include Melanie Martin singing "God on the Mountain" and Michael Gene Newton singing "Wish you were Here" and "Because He Lives".
Pallbearers will be Larry McCain, Glen Floyd, Bryan Avery, Ronnie Moore, Paul David Jones and Jack Haynes Jr.
Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery of Ridgely.
He was born Nov. 9, 1936 in Decatur county, TN. to the late Flora Jane Scott tucker and James Houston Tucker.
He married Mary Tatum, who survives.
He worked for the Lake County Sheriff's Office for six years. for over 20 years he coached at every level of the Lake County youth baseball programs. He was an avid sportsman.
He was a member of the first Baptist Church of Tiptonville.
He leaves his wife, Mary "Sissy" tucker of tiptonville; two daughters, Martha Connell and husband Steve of Tiptonville and Laurie Alexander and husband Travis of Hornbeak; a son ( a grandson considered a son) Parks Lebo of Tiptonville; a sister, Carolyn Newcomb of Ridgely; six grandchildren, Parks Lebo, Adam Alexander, Steven Connell, Alton Alexander, Chelsea Connell, and Grace Alexander;
three great grandchildren, Peyton Lebo, Kalie Lebo, and James Edward Lebo.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Alvin Weaks and Thomas Tatum."
