Robert L (Lee?) Tubbs, USN WWII

Military historian seeking relatives of Robert L Tubbs. Tubbs was a USN aerial radio operator/gunner in WWII. At the start of WWII, he was serving aboard the USS Houston, but flew from the Houston on one of the ship's SOC floatplanes before the cruiseer was sunk by the Japanese on 28 February 1942.

I am working on a book dealing with the Japanese air attack on Broome, Western Australia on 3 March 1942. Tubbs and his pilot barely escaped being shot down by Japanese fighters as they took off from Broome that day.
