I would like to more about the Judy/Sullivan connection, re: the following:
SC WILL BOOK C, 1793-1800
No county given. John Sulivan. Nuncupitative Will. Son: John Guigham, “two donation Tracts of Land Buffelo Creek, Pensilvania.” Father: John Sulivan, my share of 1,000,000 acres called Discoveries, or damages may be recovered from John Snell of Redding, Penn., now pending in law and which he has sued for. Sister’s sons: John Judee and John Foset, “by Pre-emption Wright Two Thousand Acres of Land big, Muddy river, Kentucky, to Benjamin Torries.” Mentions: to John Miller, land at the mouth of Likles Creek, Tenessee:” John Mills; to Samuel Underwood, land in Lincoln County, N.C., residue of estate. Exor: (not named). Wit: William Stephen, James Moore, John Robinson. D: 4 Sept. 1797. P: 15 Sept. 1797. R. nd. P. 410. (Judee was the Swiss name Tschudin) There is a genealogy for Tschudin family at Clayton, Houston, TX. Haven’t had a chance to peruse it.

(with reference to the above will and the mention of the Judee family, the following information is of interest): Tschudin (Judy) family were of Switzerland and settled in Penn. Records show that John Jacob Judy (who mar. Catherine Sullivan) lived near Winchester, Ky., close to others of the Judy name between 1808 and 1813 when he moved to Jackson Co., Indiana. He was a prominent land owner and Postmaster at Drusilla, Jackson Co., Ind. for many years. He was b. Nov. 4, 1776 in Va. and his father (name unknown up to 1952) served in the American Rev. but the military record has not been found after a long search by Mrs. Harlie Francis Clark of MO and Washington, D.C. John Jacob Judy’s son, Reason Judy was b. Mar. 19, 1809 one mi. west of Winchester, Ky.
(Tschudin families also lived in Orangeburg District, SC) See History of Orangeburg.
There is a Tschudin family history at Clayton Library in Houston.
Thanks, Reba Murphey
