I have always heard that there we did have some Cherokee in us, but have never been sure. Check out Phil Hogsed's thread at the bottom of the message board, under the heading "TRUSTY in Ga", dated 10/05/98. Phillip (son of one of my mother's sisters) did quite an extensive search and uncovered something about our Indian ancestry, but I believe leaves the subject still open. Yourgrandmother was an older sister of my my grandmother, Martha Jane Trusty, m. John Esco York. Vonie, as you heard of her, was Aunt Azilee to us, her full name, I believe, being Lavonia Azilee. When I get a chance, maybe this weekend, I'll inquire to my mother more about Edna.
