William Trussell is a brother to my Grandfather, John Trussell, but I don't have the answers you are looking for. However, I do think it's strange that another Brother, James, who lives next door in that 1860 census, is married to a Texan, which violates the law of East to West migration. James's Wife, as I understand it, was named Barbara Sanford and was a widow of a fellow named Oliver before marrying James, who passed in the Civil War. She applied for a Confederate pension with the State of Louisiana, which may explain her Texas roots.
