I think I've given you bad info. If Wesley is the family listed on the 1870 Coffee Co., TN census as Westley Ressel, then his daughter, Sarah, isn't the first wife of Daniel Layne.
Wesley's youngest daughter is listed on the 1860 Marion Co. census as Caroline, age 2; and on the 1870 Coffee Co. census as Amanda, age 12.
Daniel Layne was supposedly married to Sarah Trussell and then Zilpha Trussell. Both Wesley and his brother, Mathew Trussell, had daughters named Sarah and Zilpha. Both Sarah's fit the age of the first wife; but Mathew's daughter, Zilpha, was too young and was still living at home on the 1880 census. Possibly, the first wife was Mathew's daughter, Sarah; and the second wife, her cousin Zilpha (Wesley's daughter). This is just speculation on my part.
I hope I have not confused more than helped.
