The reason the name has 'zz' is because this is the 'OLD' English procedure for writing any letter s.
the s would drop down and it Looked like a z!
I have seen the records you mention, and I am sure they stood for the letter s.
William Amos, "Buck" Trussell, I have his line completed, all children from both wives and most grandchildren's names and dates, also photos of the tombstones of most of them,he was a half brother to my gr grandfather, Squire John Trussell,
Uncle Buck left Honea Path , SCar (Anderson County) for Ga, and on into Alabama, etc.
He was a 'night rider' during the early years there and this gave him the opportunity to have free travel back to
SC.On one of the trips he was suppose to have been
wounded.
Files I have were mailed to me in 1995 by Mr. Abbott, a gr. grandchild, he was in his 90's then.
The above were related to the Chester , SC Trussell's, my father would be 108, his father Will Trussell use to visit some of them in the 1920's, one I believe was named Eleanor Trussell, I think she had brothers who were in a band in
Chester, I remember the old road they lived on, and it was in the country, a family named Cassell lived nearby,
Rebecca Trussell , (whole sister to Uncle Buck) married a Holland, she is buried at Silverbrook Cemetery in Anderson County. (few miles from Honea Path)
Their father and his second wife, Barbara Cox Harper Trussell are buried beside their son , Squire John Trussell at the Honea Path Presbyterian Church cemetery.
hope this helps,
Pat Trussell Mann
