Went to Bastrop County Texas about 1848, lived next door to his sister Patsy Truss Alford's family.In 1850. Patsy having died prior to 1850.

1.N. C. Militia "War of 1812" private. He was in the 2nd Regiment, Pitt Co., N.C.
2. 1820, St. Clair Co., Alabama, Census, 1 male over 21, 1 male under 21, 1 female over 21, 5 females under 21
3. 1850, St. Clair Co., Alabama, Age 70 on the census of St. Clair Co., Ala.

Names children Nancy Cobb, Sally Little, Warren Truss, Samuel Truss, Polly King, all of Pitt Co., N.C.. My son Joel's daughters: Charity Truss, Zelphedia Truss and Lydia Truss. To all people to whom these presents shall come Samuel Truss, Senr. do send greeting. Know ye that the said Samuel Truss of the County of Pitt and State of North Carolina for and in consideration of love, good will and affection which I have and do bear toward my loving children , Nancy Cobb, Sally Little, Warren Truss, Samuel Truss and Poly King of the same county have given, granted and by these presents do freely give and grant unto my children above named their heirs and assigns forever all and singular my good and chattels now in my posession except to my granddaughters, my son Joel Truss daughters, I give to them Charity Truss, Zelphia Truss, Lydia Truss each of these a feather bed and furniture. The rest of Joel Truss children I give five shillings each to them their heirs and assigns forever. Know ye I give vizt three negroes four head horses stock cattle hogs sheep household and kitchen furniture and all my property I am possessed of in Pitt County except as beforementioned of which before the signing of these presance I have set over to my children above named and inventory. Signed with my own hand and bearing even date to have and to hold all the said and chattels in the said province to my children to them their heris and assigns forever absolute without any manner or condition. In witness my hand whereof I have hereunto set to seal this 25 day June 1810. My will deed and desire is for my two sons, Warran Truss, & Samuel Truss to be my executors.
