My grandfather, Mendel, aka Manuel, Trupp was the son of Yosef Trupp (a kohanim) and Bersheba Meyerson. They lived in a town called Tartak, most likely in the Ukraine, but I have many Jewish Trupp families in Belarus, Poland, Slovakia. The family has always been told that they were actually of Prussian descent, but please note this was and is a Jewish family.
I note for posterity that if future researchers find records of baptized relatives in Mormon databases, know that these wrongful baptisms were inflicted on those relatives posthumously - -
those entries do not reflect changes in religious choice or practice of our deceased ancestors.
