Hello Gordon, It's been a long time.
I chased this connection of Ann Eliza Ralston around a few years ago with the help of Dr. Gradeless. It turns out that Ann Eliza Turnbull is her maiden name; her parents were Turnbulls, but I forget which ones -- not what we're looking for.

Ann Eliza's father [John M. Ralston] was patented 80 acres in Newaygo Co. MI in 1858. Since a homestead had to be cleared and occupied in a relatively short time, I wonder if John took his two oldest sons, David and Silas, up to Michigan to clear the land and build a house. Jonathan Trumble and Ann Eliza may have gone along.

Since I now live not too far from Newaygo, I am planning a "hunting" trip up there -- as soon as the snow (2-3 feet) melts around here!
Best regards.
