New Truluck/Trulock Project
Hi Folks,
I'm happy to say that, as of today, a Truluck/Trulock Surname Project was begun for all males with a direct male line Truluck (or var.)ancestry.
Our very first participant descends from John W. Truluck who was married to Elizabeth Bryan. They resided in Dooly County, Georgia where John died about 1856.
This is also my Truluck ancestor, so I'm excited about finding his genetic fingerprint and establishing connections with other Trulucks.
Although females don't have the necessary Y chromosome to pass on from father to son, they can participate by sponsoring a brother, father, uncle or other male relative with the Truluck name.
I'm involved in several other surname projects, including Tipton where males all over the US show descent from one Tipton ancestor, and Brown, Clark, and Smith where DNA has helped as much by showing me who I'm NOT related to as well as who I am.: )
I should add that there is also a direct female lineage test, mtDNA, and a cousin of mine whose female line goes back to Elizabeth Bryan tested for that a few years ago.
I'm really excited about my Truluck ancestry and look forward to the growth of the project. If anyone has questions, please contact me.
