Hi,I have just finished perusing Old Somerset on Eastern Shore of Maryland which has mentions of George Truitt (Quaker).I copied pgs 103, 106 & 107.
"Chalkley visited George Truitt and his brother near the head of Pocomoke, and at Levin Denwood's on Great Monie.About 1699,or 1702/5Thomas Story "who was Paul among the Friends of America"- in making a tour of the Eastern Shore of MD, spent two days with Thomas Evernden at Annemessex after having visited George Truitt"etc etc.Pg103
pg 106 - Stevens nanes his well beloved friends - Richard Waters,Benjamin Cottman, Wm Kibble, George and John Truitt" to assist his wife in settling his estate.George and John Truitt were members of the Bogerternorton Meeting (Quaker).
pg 107- In 1689, George Truitt, who came from Accomack Co, VA purchased from Madam Elizabeth Stevens a 600 acre tract of land which he called Mulberry. This was located just south of the headwaters of Pocomoke River and about 6 to 8 miles from Snow Hill Town. The Goddin and Truitt families seem to have formed the necleus of the Bogerternorton Meeting.
If you have access to Heritage Quest through your local library then you can read the book online.
