Sylvester W. Fausett 1832 New York
I'm on a search for my ancestors who settled in Michigan about 1860.I can't trace earlier than Sylvester W. Fausett, married to Caroline E. (Elizabeth) Fausett about 1852.They had one son, Clarence Philander Fausett, born in 1854.Clarence Philander Fausett married a Coates (possibly Henrietta) and they had one son, Burt Sylvestor Fausett.Burt married Jessie May Ervans and had one son, Clarence Burton Fausett, born in 1905.
I'm posting this to your forum because coincidentally you have Fausett ancestors with the names of Sylvester and Clarence. This seems to be more than chance and we may have a common ancestor.
According to the 1900 Michigan Census, Sylvester W. Fausett was born in New York; both his parents were born in Vermont.I've been unsuccessful making the exact connection to Fausett in Vermont through census records, due to a lack of more details.
It is possible that Sylvestor W.Fausett's mother was named Sarah (unknown maiden name) born about 1798 in Vermont.Sarah also had a son named Francis, born about 1830, possibly an older brother to my g-g-g-grandfather, Sylvester W. Fausett.Sarah and Francis lived in Somersett Twp, Hillsdale County, Michigan at the time of the census 21 Aug 1860.
