My grandfather MERO GLEN TRUE born 6 December 1891, in Iowa, was the son of JOHN W. TRUE (born 1847, Madison, WI, died 2 May 1923) and CORDELIA FOREST CUMMINGS (born 20 July, 1852, WI, died 20 January 1906). John and Cordelia were married 16 March 1871. They are buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Shenandoah, IA.
My grandfather generally went by his middle name, Glen. Glen's only sibling was brother WILLIAM ORVILLE TRUE. Glen died 3 October 1936, in Council Bluffs, IA, and is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Shenandoah, IA.
He married EDITH ESTA CODER (born 1895 Gentry Co. MO) of Cambridgen NE. Their children were RUSSELL GLEN TRUE (died in WW II), MARY CATHERINE TRUE, and MARGARET ANN TRUE.
As a child he resided in Shenandoah, IA. He attended Denver U. in Denver CO, and also resided in Atlanta NE, where his family had a ranch. He fought in WW I as 1st Lt, 14 INF, 36 Div, Ia. After the war he attended Creighton State College in Omaha, NE. He later moved to Council Bluffs.
