...it depends on what you mean by "true".

If you want something close to scientific truth, do a DNA sampling.

If you want genealogical truth, then do your family tree, and compare it to Pierre Trudeau's. I suspect that there was only one Trudeau ancestor in the 1600s, so assuming each generation was legitimate (and avoiding wrinkles like adoption), you will find a common Trudeau ancestor somewhere back along the line.

If you want mathematical proof, Quebec historians maintain that by now, 350 years after the settlement of Quebec by the French pioneers, everyone with French-Canadian heritage is related to everyone else. There are even some ancestors, such as Zacharie Cloutier, who are found in every French-Canadian family tree.

So, to your question, "Am I related to Pierre Trudeau?", the blunt answer is "Sure you are. So what. We all are!"
