Not related, just trying to help you.
According to the 1880 US Census for Greeley:
Wilford R. Trudeau born 1877 was the son Of Edmund Trudeau who was born in Iowa in 1853. Edmund's father was born in Canada and his mother was born in Missouri.
In another file, I found an Edmund Trudeau born 18 Jun 1853 Fremont County, Iowa. He was the son of Louis Trudeau born in Quebec and Adeline Giguere born in St Louis, Missouri. I cannot say for sure that this is your Edmund but it seems likely, especially with the name Edmund being passed on. E-mail me at nckowal@optonline.net if you want further info.
