I have information on a James Trude that I just found on your web-page. He is the son of William D. and Elizabeth (Eldred) Trude. I have him living in Washburn (now Arthur), Lima Twp., Grant County, Wisconsin. He is in both the 1860 and 1870 census for Lima Twp. He must have removed to Hanover, Ill. sometime after 1870.
The 1860 Census:
James Trude 42 m Carpenter NY, Lucy 37 f Canada,
William 18 m Canada, Mary J. 16 f Canada, Charles 12 m NY, Betsey 1 f Wis.
The 1870 Census:
James Turde 55 m Carpenter 200 NY, Lucy 45 f Canada, Charles 22 m NY, Betsey 11 f Wis., Jane 3 f Wis.
I'm not sure where William and Mary Jane are in 1870.
If you have more info. on William, Charles and Mary Jane, I would appreciate having it. I will try to fine out more about the rest of the children. I live about an hour north of Hanover, Ill., so I will go there and try to find more. I will share it with you. I am not related to the Trudes. I am working on a history of Lima Twp., Grant County, Wis. and researching the family history of the early pioneers of that place. Linda
