Henry Boyd Troxel - Ann Angelett Troxel
Sorry - I just posted this under a different SUBJECT under the wrong names... Some days are like that...
Hi Joanne:
I spoke recently with my sister in Ohio, and she said she had some old information from you that Henry B.[Boyd]Troxel was married to one Ann Angelett [Troxel] on or about 1852 in Fairfield County, Ohio. There apparently is a cemetery listing for her in Stuckey Cemetery in Berne Twp.but I have not seen the record myself. Trying to determine just who she was - and where she was from, where she lived, who her parents were. Could her name have been ANN ANGELLET, or ANGELETT unknown lastname, or ANN GILLET, or ANN JILLETT, or what? And where can we find her in the 1850 Census records? Was she from Fairfield or Hocking County, OHIO? If not, the from where? Henry is identified as living in his sister's household in Hocking County in 1850, single, occupation: boatman. He was living on a working farm, but could he have traveled as a boatman on the rivers to other locations and brought this woman (and his child?) up to Hocking or Fairfield County after the birth of the child? And how is it that this woman died at such a young age? So many questions, so little time.
Could you please let me know where this data is recorded, and anything related to her death, a will, etc. Just point me to it. But especially the marriage record. IF our Henry Boyd Troxel was married to this woman, it may be very significant to our family. We have been attempting to identify the mother of one Julia Rebecca Troxel b. May 1850. She is my ggrandmother who md. Daniel K. Strickler. WE know, according to her burial cemetery in Greenlawn Cemetery, Columbus, Franklin, OHio, that her father is named as Henry B. Troxel, and we have not as yet obtained a death certificate if one exists. We would like to determine who her mother was. We know for a fact that Henry's wife (Susan Finefrock md. circa 1862-1863) was not her natural mother but there were children of the second marriage.
Thanks, Joanne or anyone else out there who may have information on these people. Isn't this fun? I love this stuff....
