Troxel may have come from the Evangelical reformed church, Frederick, Co. MD near Emmitsberg with other related families. Including Domer, Smith, Bottenburger, Root, Lefever, Bauer, Mathews, Schaffer. This group started the Logan Valley Salem lutheren church Antis Township Blair Co. (Then was Huntingdon Co) about 1806. This church had a ledger, and Blair co. and LDS has microfilm of it.
I see there was posted on this forum Matthews marriage to Troxel. Both were nearby houselolds in 1811 to my John LeFevre. In 1810 Matthews was tax roll records. John in Ohio 1824 had again neighbors John & William Matthews and an Abraham was an early Ohio pioneer there. And ther were som Troxel in the area.
