Parents of Henry Trowbridge

My grandfather was Henry Trowbridge who was, as far as I know, born in Newfoundland in 1876. The information I have been able to find on the Trowbridges in Newfoundland has been very limited.

It is possible his father was Samuel Trowbridge married to Viola ???, but I have no idea where they came from.

He had sisters Lillias (married to Norman Munn with two sons John and Fred), Mary (also known as Poly) and Sarah Selina (married to John Ebsary), and brother John (also known as Jack)who had a son John. I was told that one of these John's died on the Great Lakes in a boating accident (not sure if it was the father or son).

Can anyone shed some light on this family?

Any leads would be appreciated.
