This is the story of this church (in french, excuses me!! ) At the beginning of the colony, the parish Note-Lady served all the island of Montreal. The new parish of the Saint-Angel-Guards of Lachine was founded in 1676. The first wood vault was built in the enclosure of Strong Lachine. It was set up by Pierre Gaudin says Chatillon. It measured 26 feet (8 meters) of width and 36 feet (11 meters) length. The first presbytery was built in 1680 and was replaced five years later by another the more comfortable. The second church, made out of stones of the fields, was inaugurated in July 1703. It comprised one jubé and measured 34 feet (10 m) of width and 70 feet (21 m) length. The population lachinoise being somewhat moved towards the locks of Lachine after their construction and the first widening of the channel, the factory thus decided to move the church on a ground offered by a commercial rich person, Louis Boyer. In 1863, the foundations were set up at the same time as one built a sacristy to celebrate the mass in week there. In 1866, the old church and the ground were sold in Oblats of Marie-Immaculate which demolished the church and the presbytery in 1869 to set up their noviciate there.
