I'm Malcolm Trott's grandson, and my mother is Lorraine, who is still alive and about to turn 90 this month. My aunts and uncles are no longer with us.
Malcolm and Cecil were very much together at the time of her death.Originally he came from Chippewa Falls, WI and she from St Paul MN.They homesteaded in Danbury WI and later moved to a rural area just outside of International Falls, MN before moving to Portland OR, and then to (ugh) Umatilla, OR.The reason my grandmother Cecil died in Walla Walla --60 miles from Umatilla-- was that medical services in and around Umatilla were few or nonexistent in the early 1950s.
Joy had three children, but only one is alive at this time.I'm an only child.Evelyn had 7 children of which 2 survive. The name "Lauren" is inaccurate -- it's actually Loren. He had I think 10 or more children and we've lost touch.
I'm interested in knowing more about this family line;Malcolm's father was named Murrell (spelling?) and he wasn't exactly the ideal parent. He abandoned his young family without a word and then resurfaced some 20+ years later in Wisconsin after having been a Chicago cop.Who knows if he started a new family or what.
I assume Murrell's father would have been about the right age to have fought in the Civil War, but that's only conjecture.
