Hi Diane & Jim
First of all, no death Certificate for Ephrim Chase Trott in either Chippewa Co. Or Eau Claire Co.but have talked to some of the relatives and they say he and Isabella lived in Shaw Town and they think they are buried in the Shaw Town Cem.Shaw Town is a burg that Eau Claire just sort of grew around and swollowed, but you still hear the old timers talk about it.Another trip to Eau Claire, and we have snow!!
To begin with, from Isabella's death certificate, we know that her mother's name was Margaret, we only know her father's name was Ward not his first name. However, she did name her first son Amos Ward Curtis. We need to know what Lydia Trott's middle name is.What does the M stand for?
Okay, this is what we found on Amos and Eben Wards. We found a death certificate on one Amos Ward.He died on April 27, 1916, at the age of 85.He was born on September 20th, no year given. He was born about 1830.He was a retired laborer and soldier, born in Nova Scotia. His father was Amos Ward born in England. His mother was Margaret Ward born in Scotland. Was he Lydia's spouse? Here is why we need Lydia's middle name.We have a marriage certificate for an Eben Ward, who married a Sarah C. Brunks on December 4, 1870.His father was Amos Ward. His mother was Margaret Ward. His birthplace was Maine. To continue, we have the death certificate of a Margareta Ward, who was born on March 24, 1845 in Maine. Her father was Ebin Ward born in New Brunswick. Her mother was Ellen Ward born in New Brunswick.Isabella Elliott Ward Curtis Trott was born in St. John's, New Brunswick.Lastly, we found a death certificate for an Amos Ward, who was bornApril 4, 1848.There was no birthplace given nor any parents names listed. These were all from Eau Claire County. Can we tie these all together? Not yet.Is it likely they all come together some how?Unless there is a whole lot of coincidence here, most probably.
We made the trip to Burnett County courthouse on Monday.Jim has just finished entering all of the Merrill Josiah descendents we found there.Yes, we have his marriage certificate to one Hattie E. Chase, from Chippewa County. Her father was Orin Chase. Her mother was Josie Hadley. They were married on April 5, 1889.His death certificate is in Chippewa County. He died November 11, 1930.He is buried In Forest Hills cemetery. The same cemetery as Zilpah.Laura Rebecca Trott Frye's death certificate and her tombstone show her bith date as April 22, 1850.She died January 6, 1926 and was buried January 9, 1926.She is buried in Forest Hills cemetery next to Zilpah.Church Ephraim Trott's marriage certificate, from Eau Claire County, lists his wife as Hatie A. Kolb (Kate). Her father was Jacob Kolb. Her mother was Willimena Dornback.Kate was born in WI.The marriage date was April 8, 1891.To repeat his death certificate for Dianne, he died February 22, 1925.He is buried in Rumery cemetery, Wheaton, Chippewa County.
We are suffering from overload with the entries. We will continue with the information we found in all three places, at another time.We also received a lot of information on his Hunt and Rheingans lines, from his relatives; and he has entered almost a hundred new pieces of information in the last few days.Hope you can help us connect the Amos and Eben Wards. We are still searching for the last two Elliott Chester children.Happy hunting everyone.
There were oh, 25 to 50 Chase's in the indexes in Eau Claire Co, and Chippewa Co.
Later Diane B
