Origin of the TREAT (Trott) name:
The Treat (Trott) name first appeared in Taunton, England in 1458-1479.The name was spelled Trotte, Trote, Tratt, Treate and Treat.They have traced nine generations in England.
RICHARD TREAT was born in Pitminster, England, now Somerset in 1584 and died in 1669 or 1670.He married ALICE GAYLARD born 1615 in Pitminster, England, and died in 1668 or 1669.
GOVERNOR ROBERT TREAT is the 2nd Generation in America, born in Pitminster, England, now Somerset in 1624 and died in Milford, CT in 1710.He married JANE TAPP born in 1629 and died in 1703.
