I am also doing a bit of work on the trotmans. If it helps, my great grandfather was Walter Knowles Trotman and he had an elder brother called Edward who emigrated to Australia. I am the grand daughter of Walter's son, Charles Stanley (who died in France in 1918) - his son was called Charles and I am his youngest daughter. Walter had 12 brothers and sisters, Edward being the 2nd eldest. Hope this helps...
