Marneys & Tromblys Clinton Co.NY 1800's

Hi,

I'm looking to contact descendants of the following Marney/Trombly couples for the purpose of exchanging information and researching the ancestry and family history of Louis Marney Sr. He married Marie Josephte Couturier in Montreal in 1754. I have the Couturier line with all branches back to France. However, I only have Louis' parents names, Jacques Marney & Renee Morineau, nothing further. I've recently been told that Louis Marney Sr. came to Canada from France in 1750 with the French army.

Three daughters of Louis Marney Jr. married three Trombly brothers:
Antoine Trombly m. Catherine Marney
Baptiste Trombly m. Jane Marney
Louis Trombly m. Sally Marney

Louis Marney Sr. served in the American Revolution as did his son, Louis Marney Jr. They served under Moses Hazen in Congress' Own Regiment, then settled in and around Chazy, New York. There were three or more Trombley men in this same regiment and also settled in Clinton County.

My Marney ancestor is Marguerite Marney, the daughter of Louis Marney Sr. & Marie Josephte Couturier. Marguerite Marney married Thomas Le Sauvage in 1792 and settled first near Point aux Roche and later Plattsburg. They had 10 or 12 children. The only siblings I'm aware of is her brother, Louis Marney Jr. It would be great to hear from other Marney cousins to compare notes with.

Thank you,
Michael Cootware
