Haywood County NC Tritts

Jean T. Edge and others have posted information on John Tritt and Balser Tritt. I believe I may also be an ancestor of this line. My GG Grandfather was Lafayett Tritt who was married to Manervy Henson in Haywood County in the 1860 census. He had four children William Henry (my g grandfather), Margaret C (also called Katherin), John Wesley and Laura. I belive John Tritt who was on the 1840 census was his father, because he had 7 sons listed of which 3 could have been my gg grandfather Lafayett. Lafayett and Manervy both died during the civil war, and William and siblings were split up and raised by relatives. William married another Sarah Jane Oxner also of Haywood county, and they moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho, the Chinook, MT. They had 12 children.

An Uncle Larch who I believe was Uncle Arch was mentioned, whom I believe may be Archibald C Tritt.

I would love to see any other information on this line of the family. It has been soooooo exciting to finally find a link.

Thanks, Karen Henry
