Shirley,

I have found a Daniel James Trites reported in the 1861 Parish of Moncton, NB Census who was 4 months old at that time and who was the son of John Trites and Sarah Ann. I also have reference from an unconfirmed internet source that Sarah Ann's last name was Williams. In the Census, John Trites is reported to be 28 years old, born in NB, and a farm laborer. Sarah Ann is also 28 years old and born in PEI. Ten years earlier, in the 1851 Moncton, NB Census, there is a John Trites who is 18 years old, living with his parents, Jacob Trites and Rebekah whose last name is reported in the NB Marriage register index as "Wilbur". I have additional info if you are interested. As well, I might be able to obtain more info on Daniel's children.
