Dear David,
I have been trying to reach you so hopefully this will get to you.
In the Alabama, Marshall County, Bluff 1850 Census the following are listed:
15Neeley, John 60, Anne Jane 62, Nancy C., ?, Sabathlatine 16.
13 John A. Neely, Levina, Albert, John H, William M., Mary J., ?, Priscilla Gibson.
18 Edward Gibson, Mary Jane, John Trotter
24 Obediah Tremier, William, Mary C., Cortez, Pizara
31 James Trimmier, Nancy J., David Chism, LeeRoy Chism, Elizabeth Ann Chism, James Chism and Joel Chism.
The reason I listed the above Gibsons and Neely is the following:
Edward Gibson, we believe, had the following daughters: Levina, Mary Jane, Priscilla and Lucinda Paralee along with a son William Gibson.
Obediah Tremier, who is more than likely the father of James, William, Mary, Cortus and Pizarra, married Priscilla Gibson for his second wife around 1856 or 1857.James in 1857 married as his second wife, Lucinda Paralee Gibson.
We had thought at first that the Anderson and Mary Trimmier listed in the Alabama censuses were James' parents but Obediah seems most likely.
William Gibson, brother to Priscilla, Levina and Lucinda, married Serbathetim Neely. So they kept to their neigbhors you could say.
In 1860 Census, Marshall County, Alabama,
William is living next door to Lovina Neely (widowed), and James and Lucinda are living near.Obediah and Priscilla there are no signs of along with Cortus and Pizarra (although it has been suggested that the Cought Trimmier that is listed in the Civil War Records could be Cortes).
In 1870, James and Lucinda are living in Rhea County, TN.Some of their children are the William and James Trimmier that lived and died in the area around Marion County, TN.My grandfather, Andrew Jackson (John) was the youngest of James and Lucinda's children. Some of William and James' children later moved to Texas and are the James Richard and Lowell Trimmier that you see listed around Dallas.
We, from adding the census ages up, believe that Obediah was born sometime around 1807 and is listed as having been born in South Carolina.Do you have anything on him that would suggest that he is descended from the Trimmiers of South Carolina?
