There is a Stromberg, Germany, and a Stromberg which is a part of the city of Bendorf, Germany. We are in the latter. Bendorf is a short distance north of Koblenz, lies directly on the Rhein, which is in the Rheinland-Palatinate, directly at the juncture of the Rhein and Moselle rivers. They say that Koblenz is located on he "German Corner". The vilaage of Bendorf-Stromberg is located 4 kilometers up a hill from the castle Bendorf-Sayn, where a branch of the german nobility still resides. If you carry on further past Stromberg, you would find yourself in the Westerwald, the Western Forest. It is a lovely area of rolling hills, with villages scattered through.
I don't know about other spellings. "Triemborn" might be a logical variation and would be typical of the Palatinate-Alsatian area, which is not too far from here.
