regarding your posting that the Cornish branch all
got their name from a place in Stithians Parish, "Treweege".. or homestead by/or in the wood.My understanding is that Treweek means homestead by the creek - a creek in its original meaning being a tidal inlet.The name may come from Tre (homestead) and Gweek. Gweek is a placename - on such a creek.
