Hi,
I finally found a few minutes to send you some Treweek/Dunstone Data on Joseph Treweeks parents...

Benjamin Treweek ( Jospeh;s Father) was the son of John Treweek and Ann Martin/Martyn . John and Ann were married at St. Mary's Truro on 8 June 1788.(LDS M009631) Ann was a widow, having previously been married to Joseph Martin/Martyn on 20 Nov. 1774.(<009631 LDS records) Her Father was William Squire and her Mother, Mary. She was christened 6 Aug. 1755 in Truro. (LDS P009631) John was a widower, having previously been married to Elizabeth Hart of Gwennap. He had six children with her. John's parentage is currently being researched, but it is strongly suspected that his Father was Abraham Treweek, a tinner, born 26 April 1709 in St. Gluvias and buried 3 Nov. 1763 in Stithians. He married Mary George, daughter of John and Grace Knight George. their son John was born 21 Oct. 1750 in Stithians. The naming pattern "our" John used, and the history of male twins, fits this family line. But, we have no real "proof" yet and may never find any!. Abrahams father was Thomas Treweek, christened 5 Feb. 1686/8 in Stithians and married 22 Jan 1708 in Flamouth to Grace Broad christened 6 Apr. 1686.

Anyway...back to Benjamin: he was christened 23 June 1793 in Gwennap at the Gwennap Parish Church.(I have a copy of that page of baptism registry). He had a brother RIchard ch 10 DEc. 1789, a sister Elizabeth ch 28 Aug. 1791, brother Joseph ch 15 march 1795 and sister Jenifer ch 2 Jan 1802. Jenifer died 10 Oct. 1813. Not sure about the others yet. Benjamin married Mary DUnstone 13 Oct 1814 by bans. Benjamin Treweek signed his name( with lovely handwriting!) and Mary made her mark. (an X) it was witnessed by James WIlliams and Richard? Phillips. page 20 or maybe 120 as there is a line in front of the 20... of the 1814 Parish Register of Gwennap. (most likely page 20) I have a photo copy of that page. Mary was the daughter of James and Prudence Hancock Dunston who were married by banns 28 May 1792 by Arundel Radford vicar. The ceremony was witnessed by the same Rich? Phillips and A.? Hitchins. James Dunstone (spelled lots of ways) was a sojourner..meaning he was not from Gwennap Parish where the marriage took place. Rebecca Hancock was Prudence's sister and after Prudences death, James married Rebecca 15 July 1807. So, we can assume that Prudence died before that time? However, James had a base son with Rebecca baptised 22 Jan 1804 in Gwennap. Perhaps he was having an affair with the sister before the wife died???? Anyway, that's what I know about Mary DUnstone's family. Evidently from the Parish register, Mary was buried 7 Aug 1848 at Gwennap age 54, residing at time of death in Fernsplatt.
THEIR CHILDREN:
Ann bap 2 June 1816 at Gwennap Parish Church, parents living in Fernsplatt, Gwennap.
John, bap 2 Oct. 1818, parents from Fernsplatt
Jennifer, bap 29 Jan 1820 at Gwennap Church, family from Fernsplatt.
Joseph bap 1 Feb 1821 at Gwennap, parents in Fernsplatt.
Now, about this time, the family switched churches and became founding members of the Hicks Mill Chapel in Gwennap, part of the Falmouth Circuit of the Arminian Bible Christian Church. Joseph appears to have been re-baptized at the BIble Christian Church on the 14th of June along with his twin brother Benjamin (my ancestor) both listed as born 13 Nov. and baptized 14 June. Why wasn't Benjamin baptized 1 Feb in Gwennap along with Joseph? Researcher in Cornwall told me that Joseph may have been very ill and the baptism could have been an "emergency" in case he died. Benjamin was perhaps stronger and they waited until the June date to christen him at their new Church. Who knows! Anyway, there's a stong history of male twins in this line, going way back to Thomas Treweek. Then, we add:
Mary, baptized 11 Feb 1826 and Nicholas baptized 10 April 1828.
In a later census...I think the 1841 census, there is no John living at home but he'd be in his early 20s and probably on his own! There is a Richard living with them though..perhaps a nephew, or cousin?
As you know, Joseph went to Australia. So did the youngest son Nicholas (married to Mary Jane Trennery I think). My Benjamin went there with Nicholas and stayed about 6 years but returned to his wife and children in Cornwall. I am not sure about the sisters, but i do know that Jennifer also died young. Seems to happen to all the Jennifers in the line! The sons of my Benjamin and his wife Jane Coade all emmigrated to the United States, accounting for my being here and everyone else being in Australia. I do believe I need to visit there!
That's enough for now. I do have the date and immigration info. on Joseph and Harriet...somewhere. The "Australian Connection" is in a totally seperate notebook.
