I've just seen the reply from my cousin Ian Gardiner and I can add a little more: there were nine siblings who survived to adulthood - the ones Ian has left out were Jim (real name Henry) and Fred which together with Ethel makes the nine - there was no Harry. By the way, Nancy was a nickname, her real name was Anne. I can't be sure but I think my mother (Beatrice) mentioned an Uncle Harry who I took to be her father's brother - but the ages don't fit if Harry was the oldest. My grandfather (John Francis Trew Snr.) must have been born well before 1897. But given the hackney and book binding connections it seems unlikey were're not all related if only distantly!
