Dear Mr. Ellingham:
Thanks for your quick response.
The line of Trissel's I am following begin (as best we can determine) with David, who is referenced in the Tresler Family Tree.He appears as a son (6-4) of Peter Tresler and Margaret Showalter. The reference to Christina (6.6)is not clear as to whose daughter she may be.Our research indicates our David b. 1761 d. 1836 had seven sons and a daughter. The latter was named Christina. The boys were Joseph (1786-1867), Abraham (1790-1833), David Jr. (1792-1854), Jacob (1796-1871), Peter (1798-1868), John (1800-1888), and Daniel (1803-1876).The will mentioned does exist and gives the names of David's sons but does not mention his wife nor Christena.
David Sr. is buried in the Trissel Cemetery in Jackson Twp., Montgomery, OH.On his tombstone is the name of his wife Anna.Although, several Showalter researchers claim David married Martha Ann Showalter, none have provided any documents that support their claims.Seems most of proof comes from citing another researcher.
Since you state that you have the ancestry fairly well developed can you shed some light on David, his wife, and what documentation supports that he is a son of Peter and Margaret?Any information would be greatly welcomed.
Robert...
