My name is Alec Francis Trendall, b.1928 in Enfield.
My father was Alec Frederick Trendall, b.1891, also in Enfield.
His father was Francis Thomas Trendall, a wheelwright, b.1864, in Twyford.
His father was Thomas Trendall, a bootmaker, b.1838, in Hambledon.
Thomas had a younger brother, John (b.1847, Medmenham), who had worked as a wheelwright in Battersea and Penge, but retired to keep a pub in Enfield - the Pied Bull at Bulls Cross.John was, of course, the uncle of Francis Thomas.
At the time of the 1901 Census John was head of a household (the pub) consisting of himself, his wife, and three children. The eldest son was Frank, born 1875/76 in Battersea; there was an older daughter, Anne Rebecca, who had apparently left home before the 1901 Census.
Also at the time of the 1901 Census my grandfather Francis Thomas (b.1864, Twyford), was the head of another Household in Enfield, at 1 Windsor Cottages, Birkbeck Road. It was made up of himself, his wife and four children.
It seems likely, from the dates, that Ian Trendall's great-grandfather William Frank was Frank Trendall, b.Battersea 1875/76, the son of John (b.1847), my great-great-uncle.
I would like to get into direct contact with Ian to discuss this and exchange other Trendall information.
