Annie Treloar was my grandmother Dorothy Tregonning Hobday's older sister. Annie came to the US when she was 5 or 6 with her mother Dorothy Roberts Tregonning. Their father was William Tregonning who came to Ruby Hill about 1871.Dorothy had grown up in Porkellis Cornwall. He was the son of William Tregonning of Gold Lyon, Carnmenellis Cornwall. (near Wendron) William Sr's tombstone is found in the Carnmenellis churchyard (church is gone, burned down.) His stone is broken at the ground level and is leaning against a stone fence on the right side of the cemetery as you enter. ( he shares tombstone with his "son Hercules" who died in the 1870s. william Sr. died in a mining accident when William Jr. was very young @ 14. @ 1855. His wife was about 29, and had 9 children if I recall. This cemetery is full of tregonnings and treloars. Wendron has treloars and roberts', but no Tregonnings. This is all from memory and visual remembrances. if you would like me to get out my papers, I could be more exact. I think Annie moved to Idaho with Joe Treloar around 1900, when he became the manager of a mine. I believe Annie died in Los Angeles. Tom
