My grandfather's name was Luciano, and his brothers and old acquaintances referred to him as Chano, just like your great-grandfather. I also know that he was named after his father and possibly his grandfather. He was born in the early 1900, so the Chano's lived in the later half of the 1800's.

I was wondering if you have the names of the cities or something to pinpoint where you family is from.
