I too am from a TREHEARNE line, originally from Wales. The research I have been finding lists quite a few spelling variations, so I'm not sure if mine falls into the same groupings.
I see Trehar-WALES :(Carmarthenshire)south Treharne-WALES(Cmn):above
Trayhurn:England
Trehearne-(Wawickshire),England
Trehern-(Somerset)England
As my family goes, we are from WALES. my brother, who has website, says we were from South Wales, and our original spelling was TRAHORN-a knight by the castle, or our name came from the castle. My aunt, who gave him alot of our TREHEARNE history, says we were from England-ESSEX or SUSSEX..I think my brother has done more area searches,so I lean towards his research.

1) I would LOVE to know where our NAME came from, and if there was only one spelling.I know coming into the US, record keepers changed spellings, so I want to know what you find from WALES on the family clanhistory.
I also have been searching records in Wales, and did find Probate records with Treherne,s.However, I'm searching in the 1600's.My family has been here since the early 1600's from Wales.
I did find 2 different Trehern, and Trahern. This might lend a stone or two for you.

My line is linked to "The" Oliver Cromwell. I want to say a distant uncle. You might start looking in the Cromwell line and see where you end up.
I do have details I would like for you to see if you can look up,please contact me.My brother and I got to go to Wales this past March, but we were in the Snowdonnia Area, and didn't go to do research.
