I have no Treats relatives, that I know of, but a Treats family is mentioned in one of my families old letters. The writer is my g/grandfathers brother, William Hall, who lived in/near Lisbon, Kendall County, Illinois. The letter, written February 27, 1870, he writes... "William Treats and wife and family are returning to England to Live thy have Sold there farm is health is poor thy are starting on the Second of March Charles Treats will know the road pretty well soon he has traveled the road to Uncle Same 3 times then he would be company for you" - William wasn't big on capitalizing or putting periods at the end of sentences but I think you can figure it out. - The letter was being sent to William's brother, Edwin, who (in 1870) lived in Clerkenwell, which is about a mile east of Buckingham Palace in downtown London. As the letter indicates that Edwin knew the Treats', it is likely that the Treats family could have been from Harwell, where William and Edwin were born or, less likely, the area Edwin currently lived. This was Clerkenwell, a London suburb that is about a mile east of Buckingham Palace. - Also, William implies that Charles Treats will be returning to Illinoi Notify Administrator about this message?
