Hi Richard, I am a descendant of the Treadaway line from NC. Most, if not all Treadaways spelled with three a's, are from North Carolina specifically from Anson/Union Counties about thirty miles from Charlotte. There is a Treadway site that includes this group. You can find it by typing in "Treadway Web". Your ancestors might be listed there and can give you a start. Many of my Treadaways stayed in NC but there were those, like myself, who moved to other states. Happy hunting!
