Hi John In the account/journal book where Titus Travis recorded the names and birth dates of all his children in 1786, there is a Susanney Travis recorded as being born October 29, 1779, so that child does fit into the family. I don't fit into the Travis family but my husband does. He is the son of Violet Ada Travis who married Murray Henry Fortman. Violet was a direct descendant of Caleb Travis and his first wife Susan Merritt. At first other Caleb descendants and I, thought that Our Caleb was the son of Jeremiah Travis and first went to Nova Scotia with his sister Sarah Quereau nee Travis. Some of the Caleb Travis descendants disagree with me and insist that our Caleb was the one that went to Nova Scotia. We do not deny that there was a Caleb Travis living in Grandville Annapolis Co, Nova Scotia but that one received land as a loyalist in 1784 in Nova Scotia. Our Caleb was only 11 years old at that time and it would have been impossible for him to fool the powers that be into thinking he was of age to receive a grant of land as a loyalist. The Caleb that got the land was born about 1763 in Westchester County son of Jeremiah Travis but not our Caleb. Thanks for your interest. Donna Notify Administrator about this message?
