Hello all,
AS this is only my second day of real research, My knowledge is limited. I have however tracked the end of Joseph Travioli.
He joined the Union Army at the beggining of the civil war, a member of the 1st Indiana Calvary (28th Indiana Volounteer) have tracked this regiment through many battles, But Joseph was killed in october 1863 in Arkansas. I have researchers checking on a Gravesite. According to my research thus far, I expect it will be around Tulip or Pine Bluff Arkansas as that was the Location of His Regiment at the recorded time of death. This could be the reason James named a son Joseph the year After. THanks for all the other input and I hope some find this of interest. dtraviol@tc3net.com
